Kingdom of Tonga , Vava’u Islands:

Vava’u Island group is where we checked into the Kingdom of Tonga and spent near a month in this group sailing amongst the islands enjoying the protected anchorages and scenic views.  Can’t say enough good things about this island group, we loved it so much we stayed here for over a month.  Click here for more pictures.

     

 

 

                  

 

 

 

 

Niue:  A very small country with 1700 residents makes this island unspoiled with the main attraction, its natural beauty.  A jagged coast line of elevated coral, caverns for exploring and the pristine water are a few points of interest.  Click here for more pics.

 

Cook Islands:

Rarotonga is our first stop in the Cook’s and it is already on of our favorite islands.  We landed here just in time for their Constitution Day Celebrations and will partake in the dance festivals, crafts shows and of course eating all the good food to offer. Society IslandsShopping in Papeete, Tahiti at the early

morning market, swimming with the Sting Rays on Moorea Island, and

Tuamotus Islands:

Shell Chandeliers, plain wooden benches and bright cloth decorate this Catholic Church on the island of Makemo.   The main industry on these islands is black pearl farming.  Click here for more pictures…

 

 

              

Marquesas Islands (French Polynesia) :

This pictures taken on the island of Ua Pou was had one of the best beaches.  Most of the beaches in the Marquesas are black but beware

of any white beaches since they are full of Nonos, a flying knat with

First Ocean Passage:

Labor Day weekend was the departure date for our first Ocean Passage.  Leaving Sequim with a beautiful sun rise was the perfect way to start the passage.   Dolphins & Sail-by-the-wind creatures visiting us during our voyage.    Click here for more pictures.

 

 

 

 

 

Vancouver Island, British Columbia:

Deciding to circumnavigate Vancouver Island as our shakedown cruise, with our niece Brittney, we left Everett, Washington on July 4th and met up with Rutledge, Ray & Pat on “Second Wind”.  They were to be our cruising buddies for the following week.
